How to make a meme

Three steps from photo to share-ready meme — no uploads.

1

Add your photo

Drag and drop any image — your own photo, a screenshot, or a picture from your camera roll.

2

Type your captions

Fill the top and bottom lines. The preview updates as you type — white text, black outline, classic meme style.

3

Download

Get a share-ready JPG — post it, message it, or send it straight to the group chat.

Your photos, your punchlines

The fastest meme format is still white text on a picture — and the funniest material is your own camera roll.

Private by design

Every operation runs inside your browser. Your images are never uploaded anywhere.

Free & unlimited

No accounts, no daily caps, no watermarks stamped on your files. Ever.

Type and see it live

Captions render as you type, with text size that adapts to your image automatically — no font settings to fiddle with.

Frequently asked questions

Does it come with meme templates?

No — and that's deliberate. Classic meme template images carry copyright questions, so AmiIMG focuses on the universal format: your own photo with top and bottom text. Bring any image and the tool handles the typography.

What font does it use?

Classic meme style: bold white text with a black outline, using the Impact font when available and your system font otherwise — Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, and all other scripts render natively with the same outlined look.

What format is the export?

JPG — the most share-friendly format. Transparent images (like PNGs with transparency) get a white background, which is also the classic meme look.

Is there a text length limit?

Each line takes up to 120 characters. Long captions wrap onto multiple lines and the text size steps down automatically so the caption never eats the whole picture.

Are my files uploaded to a server?

No. The meme is rendered entirely in your browser — your files never leave your device.
